The Packers, founded in 1919 by Earl “Curly” Lambeau (Lambeau Field), are the second oldest franhise in the NFL, second to only the Arizona Cardinals.
From 1919 to 1920, the Packers competed as a semi-professional football team against other local clubs in Wisconsin, as well as the Midwest, joining the American Professional Football Association (APFA) in 1921.
Note: The Packers are the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team in the U.S.
